Unreal. As a rule, developers can't optimize this engine, as a result even games with rather modest graphics devour a shitload of resources.

I don't like most RPGM games, but from a making game's point of view, I hate Unity.

Hey there, the stunt that they pulled was the whole runtime fee fiasco, to this day I know that they will try something similar again like these types always do.
In regards to the SetupReiPatcherAndAutoTranslator, I’ll have to double check but I’m pretty sure that the translation quality is fairly poor and that for some games the text has to load the translation (which takes a few seconds or if you’re unlucky a minute though that’s only happened to me twice). But maybe it’s better than I remember it being.

Unity and Unreal. I haven't played a good game that used either. I'd rather play an html game than those two.

I usually pass on RPGM games. Good games using that engine are very hard to find.

Specifically for VNs: I hate basically every engine that isn't Ren'Py, because using anything else almost never makes sense. In addition to missing features, missing Linux support and missing moddability, it's usually a sign of wrong priorities on the side of the developer.
For VNs and for all types of adult games, I especially hate RPG Maker because a large number of totally clueless novices acquire this product and then publish random shit they made with it on a weekend. RPG Maker is a perfectly legitimate (and probably useful for some, although I personally don't find it useful) tool for making reasonably good RPGs like Jesus Christ RPG Trilogy (available on Steam; I like the fact that it's not clear whether it's serious or pokes fun at the topic). Also if Jeff Vogel ever tires of his home-grown RPG engine, I doubt his games would get worse if he used RPG Maker instead. The feature sets are probably similar. And while Jeff Vogel's games are not AAA, there is absolutely nothing wrong with them. They are fun to play and cosy in how conservative they are, despite some idiosyncrasies. However, in practice that is almost never the quality we get in RPG Maker games because the market is flooded with RPG Maker shovelware. And for VNs (where using RPG Maker really doesn't make any sense) and for adult games this is even more true.

RPGM. Soooo many games that have good graphics, and a promising story, nice characters... but due to the engine the games dropps in enjoyment. I don't want to move aronud mc like a char in a gameboy. And many times the game does not need to be RPGM. It would be better suited for a renpy game.

RPGmaker is terrible because of spending most of the time wandering a map with really bad graphics. Also, it's mostly used by low skill/low effort devs.
HTML is bad because it's in the browser and usually a low effort real porn game

I avoid games made in Unity now like fire, don't know what's up with it but I've got only bad experiences with them. Also, I've gotten so used to renpy by now that it feels weird to use anything else lol
