I use a VPN, but there are so many out there, some paid, some (supposedly) free. Which one - assuming that you are using one - do you use/prefer/recommend? Are you using one, but wish you had chosen a different one?
Not so many as you'd think. And a bunch seem kinda chummy with the chicoms - who are ofc happy to help people cover their tracks on the internet...I use a VPN, but there are so many out there
Thank you for that link, e6mill. That's a real eye-opener, to put it mildlyNot so many as you'd think. And a bunch seem kinda chummy with the chicoms - who are ofc happy to help people cover their tracks on the internet...

As a matter of interest, are you using the paid or free version of Proton? I have been using the free version for a few years, but it doesn't always work the way it should.I am using Proton VPN. I remember Heisenberg talking about it once and so I decided to go with it. I have no complains.
NordVPN has a no logs policy. They claim it was reviewed by PWC and Deloitte a few times already. I have not yet found any trustworthy sources to the contrary.
According to NordVPN's own website:I've heard Nord is good, but I'm interested if anyone has heard anything negative. I mean do they keep logs, etc?
I've had problems with accessing shares on the local network when running the operating system client. The mistake might be on my on my side but I've also read online about others having the same problem with no solution. The browser plugins actually work like a charm.TBH, so far, I have not seen any critical claims to the contrary. Operationally, I have found it very good and easy to use.
