Heck no! "Keep things silent!" - many developers can't set off volume of good music,
many of them just bizarre and can't make good mood.

its ok in some games. as long as the intro isnt at 100000% volume and the sound doesnt restart everytime you rollback. also if music is used it should be used through out the game, not just in a few random parts of the game and then just dead silent.

Decent music/soundtrack is very rare. The only successful examples I can think of are Adventures Of Willy D. But there the music was created by the developer himself in cooperation with his friends. In other cases, alas, there is a copyright issue. As a result, in most cases you can't expect high-quality music. Such music quickly gets boring, you can't stand it for more than half an hour. So I either turn it off or play something from my music library (classic rock, jazz or new age).
As for voice-over - here you need people who have at least the slightest bit of theater experience. Amateur voice-overs are terrible.

I love when LI / scenes have like theme songs (Ashley in Halfway House ) but not a fan of background elevator music in general

Music in games definitely improves the experience and adds to the atmosphere, but if i had a nickel for every time a dev puts music in the game menu and it's WAY too loud, i would have a lot of nickels.

Average Renpy games usually have pretty poor soundtracks which is what I assume you mean, but video games as a whole absolutely should have music. Some of the most explosively charismatic and wonderful music ever developed in the human history have been from and for video games.

Yes, if it's relevant to the scene and enhanced it. If it's just random songs or sometimes even just one song it does gets annoying quickly.

Personally i often mute the music from adult games. I often think that there should be focus on other aspects instead of the music of a game, e.g. general sound design and fx

Ambient/environmental music is usually nice especially for sandbox games, but only if it fits and isn't super popular. I fucking heard snowfall in the middle a game and nearly lost my mind. Also these game makers need to learn to not always set the volume to max for everyone and then have fucking blaring sound before you can turn it down.

I personally always mute the music myself. The music is usually pretty terrible or doesn't fit the scenes so it doesn't add much.

If you don't like it, turn it off in preferences... not sure what the big deal is.

Personally I like it for there to be music, but I turn the music slider down. I prefer sound effects to have to be louder than the music.

Only the (few) ones with original music. Games lie Being a Dik have such obnoxious music it completely distracts from the story.
