LewdCorner - October 2026 Patch Notes

October 1–24, 2026

Theme Development • Latest Updates • New Features • Donation Improvements • Bug Fixes • Performance

October Development Roundup

October has been a busy month behind the scenes at LewdCorner. We've been working on everything from a major theme overhaul and improvements to Latest Updates to new game-version features, notification repairs, donation improvements, and general maintenance.

The goal is to make LC cleaner, faster, easier to navigate, and more reliable while preserving the features, customizations, and functionality members already enjoy.

IMPORTANT — UPDATE AVAILABILITY

The new LewdCorner theme is NOT live or available to members yet.

We're still working on the new design, polishing its functionality, fixing visual issues, and preparing it for a future public release.

This roundup covers work completed or in development between October 1 and October 24. Some fixes and features have been prepared or tested but may not yet be installed on the live forum.

We'll announce major releases separately once they're ready.

01. Major Theme Overhaul
STATUS: IN DEVELOPMENT — NOT LIVE

One of our biggest projects this month has been rebuilding and modernizing the LewdCorner theme.

The upcoming design is based on our licensed UI.X Dark framework, extensively customized to deliver a more streamlined forum experience while preserving LC's recognizable branding, purple accents, logos, and custom features.

This isn't just a few visual adjustments. We're updating the overall browsing experience across multiple sections of the forum.

Navigation & Layout

  • Reworked the primary navigation into a cleaner top-menu layout.
  • Removed the slide-out navigation drawer from the upcoming theme.
  • Implemented a sticky navigation bar that remains accessible while scrolling.
  • Improved access to conversations, notifications, search, account settings, and custom LC sections.
  • Moved staff-related controls into a compact, permission-based navigation menu.
  • Reduced unnecessary spacing and oversized elements.
  • Improved mobile responsiveness and touch-friendly navigation.

Forum Index & Footer

  • Removed unnecessary duplicate headings and forum action rows.
  • Refined category headers, forum icons, unread indicators, and spacing.
  • Replaced the previous category filter with a quick thread-title search.
  • Improved search-result presentation with thread titles, prefixes, forums, replies, and dates.
  • Added easier search cancellation and reset behavior.
  • Redesigned the footer with cleaner navigation, LC branding, account links, and actual forum statistics.

Profiles & Other Pages

The visual overhaul extends beyond the homepage.

Pages receiving design improvements include:

  • Member profiles and activity feeds.
  • Thread listings and discussions.
  • What's New and latest activity.
  • Search results.
  • Watched threads and bookmarks.
  • Conversations and private messages.
  • Account settings.
  • Member listings and help pages.

All these changes are being developed around XenForo's existing functionality and permission systems, rather than replacing working features with purely visual alternatives.

Again, these theme changes are not available to the public yet.

02. Latest Updates Improvements
STATUS: IN DEVELOPMENT — NOT LIVE

We've spent considerable time improving the Latest Updates experience, particularly how games and other content are displayed, previewed, and filtered.

Improved Content Cards

  • Improved card spacing, readability, and title presentation.
  • Engine and prefix badges remain visible without requiring a hover.
  • Game versions and completion statuses are presented more clearly.
  • Improved the positioning of version and completion badges.
  • Removed duplicate or unnecessary category labels.
  • Adjusted longer version labels to prevent overlapping.
  • Preserved LC-specific indicators, including PLUS.
  • Improved the appearance of statistics and rating indicators.
  • Unrated releases no longer display misleading ratings.

New & Improved Hover Previews

The updated preview system makes it easier to inspect releases without opening every thread individually.

  • Additional information, including creators, tags, and available ratings.
  • Improved positioning to prevent surrounding cards from shifting.
  • Previews close when moving away from the image area.
  • Returning to a preview resets the slideshow to its first available image.
  • Removed unnecessary preview controls for a cleaner appearance.
  • Improved keyboard, touchscreen, and reduced-motion behavior.

We've also addressed clipping problems that previously caused version badges and other information to disappear behind image boundaries.

Filtering & Discovery

  • Redesigned filter-panel spacing and sizing.
  • Improved category icons for games, AI games, comics, animations, mods, and assets.
  • Refined sorting, date filtering, and search controls.
  • Improved included and excluded tag filtering.
  • Preserved saved filter presets and advanced options.
  • Improved mobile filter controls.

Note: Some of these presentation improvements are part of the upcoming unreleased theme. Missing screenshots or unavailable source media will continue using appropriate fallback behavior.

03. Threads, Profiles & Reactions

We're also working on improving how posts, member information, and reactions appear throughout the forum.

Thread & Member Layout Improvements

  • Redesigned the author information panel beside posts.
  • Introduced cleaner square avatar presentation.
  • Improved username, user title, and member-statistic readability.
  • Reduced unnecessary decorative elements.
  • Improved role and group badge presentation.
  • Kept member details and expandable information organized.
  • Preserved existing member customizations and group memberships.

Post Controls & Reactions

  • Repositioned reaction controls and summaries toward the bottom-left of posts.
  • Improved Quote and Reply button placement.
  • Separated moderation controls from ordinary member actions.
  • Preserved existing reaction permissions and restrictions.

Reactions+ Fixes

We've also prepared a repair for an issue causing the Reactions+ picker to display reactions in an improperly formatted vertical list.

The correction improves reaction grouping when category information is missing or empty, without altering existing reaction artwork, counts, IDs, or permissions.

04. Game Version History & What's Changed
STATUS: IN DEVELOPMENT — NOT LIVE

One of the more useful features we've been developing is improved game-version tracking.

Rather than relying entirely on manually checking threads for changes, the new functionality is designed to make version updates easier to follow.

Features

  • View the current version and previously recorded versions of supported game threads.
  • Access available version history directly from a thread.
  • View available release-note snapshots and comparisons through a new What's Changed interface.
  • Choose between normal reply notifications, version-only notifications, or watching without alerts.
  • Receive version alerts when genuinely new versions are recorded.
  • Prevent repeated notifications caused by cosmetic edits or restoring an existing version.
  • Save or clear a private checkpoint indicating which version you've downloaded.
  • Access version comparisons through compatible Latest Updates card menus.

Important distinction: Merely opening a download link does not mean you've downloaded a game. The system is designed to distinguish visiting a download host from confirming a completed download.

Additional safeguards have also been developed to handle missing version-history tables after incomplete upgrades, helping prevent thread errors without creating nonexistent historical records.

05. Watched-Thread Notification Repairs
STATUS: FIXES PREPARED

We've been investigating reports of watched threads failing to generate expected notifications.

The investigation identified multiple issues involving background processing, duplicate notification checks, and interactions between supplemental and native XenForo alerts.

Prepared Fixes

  • Corrected background notification scheduling.
  • Improved detection of notifications associated with specific replies.
  • Adjusted notification delivery to work more reliably alongside XenForo's native alert system.
  • Improved direct links to the relevant posts.
  • Added retry handling for temporarily rate-limited notifications.
  • Improved duplicate-notification prevention.
  • Rechecked user permissions, blocks, watch settings, and preferences before notification delivery.

Member preferences remain important.

These changes are designed to respect existing notification settings. They're not intended to reset anyone's preferences or suddenly send large batches of old alerts.

Individual reports of missing notifications may still require verification after deployment.

06. Donations, Subscriptions & Supporter Improvements
STATUS: ADDITIONS IN DEVELOPMENT / CONFIGURATION

We're continuing to improve our existing RequestStream-powered donation system.

The goal is to offer better flexibility, more rewarding subscription options, and additional ways for members to support LewdCorner.

Our existing donation integration is staying. These are improvements and additions, not a replacement.

Donation Experience Improvements

  • Clearer payment-option guidance.
  • Improved payment return and confirmation handling.
  • Better controls for donor visibility.
  • Continued safeguards to ensure credits are issued only for verified payments.

Subscription Loyalty Bonuses

We're developing a loyalty system that can provide additional rewards to members who maintain qualifying recurring donations.

Planned functionality includes:

  • Extra Donation Credits for qualifying successful subscription renewals.
  • Configurable loyalty reward levels.
  • Recognition of verified subscription renewal history.
  • Optional introductory rewards with eligibility restrictions.
  • Protection against repeatedly canceling and recreating subscriptions to exploit rewards.
  • Additional handling for refunded or disputed payments.

How it works:

The initial successful subscription payment provides the normal applicable credits. Loyalty bonuses become available according to configured eligibility and successful renewal rules.

Creating a subscription alone does not automatically grant a renewal bonus.

Canceling a legitimately paid subscription will not automatically remove credits that were properly earned. Refunds, disputes, and conditional promotional bonuses are handled separately.

Donation Campaigns & Special Events

We've also been developing additional configurable donation promotions, including:

  • First-time supporter bonuses.
  • Returning supporter rewards.
  • Subscription renewal promotions.
  • Limited-time bonus credit campaigns.
  • Better coordination between overlapping promotions.
  • Optional donation-related reminders for members who choose to receive them.

These promotions are not necessarily active yet. Available events, their requirements, and their reward amounts will depend on the campaigns we enable.

Funding Dashboard Improvements

Administrative reporting has also been expanded to provide a clearer picture of recurring support.

Improvements include:

  • Better visibility into existing active subscriptions.
  • More accurate separation of projected recurring support and payments actually received.
  • Renewal and paid-through information when available.
  • Clearer handling of missing or incomplete reporting information.
  • Improved visibility of subscribers who joined before the current reporting period.

These changes should make it easier for us to plan future funding goals while keeping financial reporting more accurate.

07. New Staff & Moderation Tools
STATUS: DEVELOPED — STAFF ROLLOUT SUBJECT TO CONFIGURATION

We've been working on additional administrative tools to help staff investigate suspicious activity and manage problematic content.

LC Account Investigator

A separate account investigation system has been developed for authorized staff.

Features include:

  • Member-focused account searches.
  • Comparison of available account evidence.
  • Tools for reviewing potentially related accounts.
  • Internal investigation notes.
  • Access auditing and permission-based controls.
  • Additional safeguards around sensitive information.

This system is separate from our existing Alt Account Finder add-on.

Shared technical signals are investigative leads, not automatic proof that two accounts belong to the same person.

Sensitive information remains permission-controlled, and optional browser-based collection is disabled by default.

User Content Management

We've also developed additional staff-facing content tools.

These allow appropriately authorized staff to perform recoverable bulk removal of a member's posts and threads when necessary.

The goal is to make moderation tasks easier without introducing unnecessary data-loss risks.

08. Online Activity & General Maintenance

Additional work this month has focused on forum statistics, activity tracking, and overall compatibility.

Online Member Improvements

  • Improved staff and online-member widget presentation.
  • Refined member labels, avatar sizing, and tooltips.
  • Improved the online activity chart.
  • Preserved recorded peak activity information.
  • Ensured activity charts use actual observations rather than fabricated historical values.
  • Maintained existing member visibility rules.

Other Maintenance

Additional development and packaging work has covered:

  • Native economy functionality.
  • The Vault system.
  • Activity and progression tracking.
  • Add-on compatibility corrections.
  • General stability improvements.

Some of these components remain in alpha or development and should not yet be considered fully production-verified releases.

09. Recent Error & Stability Fixes
STATUS: FIXES PREPARED AND LOCALLY TESTED

Two additional server-error fixes were prepared on October 24.

Exit Warning - BBCode Rendering Error

Problem:
Certain malformed links could trigger an unsupported BBCode function call while rendering forum posts.

Fix:
Updated the affected rendering behavior to use XenForo's supported functionality while preserving normal external-link warning behavior.

Activity Tracker - Database Deadlocks

Problem:
Overlapping requests updating the same member's activity information could occasionally result in database deadlocks.

Fix:
Improved the locking sequence and introduced a limited transaction retry mechanism.

The updated handling was tested to avoid accidentally awarding duplicate activity points, recording duplicate entries, counting reading time twice, or repeating queued work.

Testing Results

  • 53 local checks passed across the two latest server-error fixes.
  • 209 checks passed for the latest theme development build.

These results reflect development testing and do not, by themselves, mean every change has been deployed to the live forum.

10. What's Next?

There's still plenty we're working on.

Our immediate priorities include polishing the upcoming theme, completing remaining testing, preparing new functionality for rollout, and addressing issues reported by members.

We're particularly focused on:

  • Finishing and preparing the new theme for public availability.
  • Continuing improvements to Latest Updates.
  • Finalizing game-version tracking and notification functionality.
  • Expanding donation loyalty and campaign options.
  • Improving stability and resolving outstanding add-on issues.
  • Preserving existing member data, settings, and functionality throughout upgrades.

A reminder about the new theme:

The new design is still under development and is not currently available to regular members. We'll provide a separate announcement when it's ready for a public release.

Thank You for Supporting LewdCorner!

We appreciate everyone who's continued supporting LC, reporting problems, suggesting improvements, and helping us identify issues.

Your feedback makes it much easier to improve the forum.

If you encounter a bug, broken layout, missing notification, or anything that doesn't seem to work correctly, please report it with as much detail as possible.

Useful information includes screenshots, affected thread or page links, approximate times, and steps to reproduce the problem.

We're not trying to reinvent LewdCorner or take away the features people already use. We're continuing to build on what we have, improve what's outdated, and fix what's broken.

More updates to come.
