discussion In the future do you think AI will save the world or destroy it?

More worried about the rush to implement/widely release advanced AI than it's overall capabilities. When it is being used to find vulnerabilities that take a good part of the internet offline for a day it makes you wonder if maybe a slowdown or restriction in use could be beneficial while we sort things out. The less advanced models seem more than capable for the majority of uses. There is a reason dynamite is no longer sold in hardware stores as a stump remover.

Humanity is so greedy, even if AI advances, we will try to expliot it which will lead us to ruin. We always fall then rise, fall then rise. Its a sad pattern

I have the feeling that every times AI make a step forward humanity is taking a step backward. I see a lot of new technology everyday but nothing to advance us as human beings, only things making us more and more lazy and weak.

My opinion in the matter is that in a few years humans will become irrelevant if we continue on this path. Technology is nice to make our life easier but we should not forget what it means to be human and that a satisfying life is not a life without struggle.

What you guys think?

If the world veers towards making A.I more supplementary than making it "replace" certain things then it would be beneficial more than destructive in the long run.

However in a society like this where the potential to commercialize A.I far outweighs the potential of A.I helping people i find it hard to believe that in the passing years A.I wouldnt replace most things humanity did.

I would say it depends on how it's handled. We have the ability to do amazing things together, but because of politics, greed, and an overall fear of each other globally we might not see that in the near future.

There's a reason we have this sentiment of a future we were promised but never given through frutiger aero. It is also why all new information comes and goes quickly. We have adjusted to having such an influx of information and change in our world that we've become numb to: Physical damage to a person's person, Finding out a celeb or high-status individual is a part of some illegal actions, and other critical anchors for our species to moves past in order to become a benefit to ourselves and our world. AI is just becoming another anchor for us to overcome together. A tool we have been misusing as of late without fully understanding.
