Both hand drawn and 3D are my life's if they're well done. Badly drawn hand art is a nope from but 3D tends to have that weird doll like effect when not done properly that's just really strange.
AI should give the creator more time and energy on the story or game mechanic. But a lot of the time the entire focus is the AI artwork, which I feel is a mistake.
AI still looks terrible, too uncanny valley for my tastes. 3d and 2d are on pretty equal footing, as long as it looks good. But badly drawn 2d is infinitely preferable to bad 3d. There's something about the heart and soul of badly drawn porn. Someone decided their particular fetish wasn't well represented and took pen in hand to change that. I respect it even if I can't masturbate to it.
I understand that. Even a rough hand drawn image can feel more personal because a real person made it. AI images often look technically good, but sometimes they feel a bit lifeless to me. For me the most important thing is simple. If the art looks good and fits the game, then I enjoy it, whether it is 2D, 3D, or hand drawn.
I might get some hate for saying this, but even though drawing feels more authentic and personal, AI can still be very helpful. If someone is good at creating a story or coding a game but doesn’t have drawing skills, AI can help fill that gap.
As time goes on, AI is becoming more and more consistent and capable of creating many different styles. If you have a clear artistic vision but don’t have the ability to draw it yourself, why not use AI to help bring it to life?
Of course, it’s important to clearly disclose that you are using AI.
Without a difference. The main thing is to have a good gameplay (for games) and good text paired with an interesting plot (this applies to visual novels). Everything else is secondary.
Any of the three are fine with me as log as they are not just slapped together like a bunch of those AI games where the images change each time and never look the same and some don't ever match properly with the current scene.
