I know we have the basic cash grab and vanish people. But the games that are actually quite good but dev makes it impossible to play. One of my favorite games was Harrypotterturns18 for a little while and the dev kept adding anti cheat stuff and anti pirate things. He was banned from most boards and vanished. used great models of real girls and was building a good story but his paranoia got in his way.

Isn't there an option to turn those off? I don't think it's so bad in that game, personally. Some people refuse to play still-based games nowadays.

I do agree that this practice can be pretty jarring mid-way through development though. Taboo (Vinovella) University added AI animations for pretty much every little thing in a scene sometime during season 2. This isn't an AI bad post necessarily, but why are some devs so obsessed with using AI to animate picking up something from a desk (among countless other mundane things) or uncannily talking very animatedly. It's like they really wish they could be making a FMV instead of a VN. Thankfully, you can turn them off at least in this particular game.

but yeah dont have a name in mind but dev that blocks rollback "it can break stuff" and think we going to maintain 20 different saves just to see different outcomes, like do you want ppl to hate you and your game?
also some devs blocks URM (a cheat program for renpy games) for no reason other then they want to force ppl to grind even do we can just save edit

Yea this, totally. Politics or some weird creatures and supernaturals out of the blue without any reason.

The hotel game. It went from running a hotel to some.... save the race of elves kind of game. I don't understand it, I didn't care to keep playing after it was just mountains of text when they weren't even in the hotel anymore. Maybe it has gotten better but I think when a game focuses too much on the story its just losing its audience. As long as it's audience is me. It loses me. I like a good story. But i'm not here to read a novel, i don't need lore for your porn game ....
