Do people genuinely enjoy when a game has mini games or combat in them? I think sometimes it can ruin immersion and be unnecessary, though obviously there are people that enjoy them since it's apart of so many games.
It depends on the game. Ex: the match 3 in a VN just gets in the way but if it's a match 3 in a puzzle game then sure. It's all about consistency.Do people genuinely enjoy when a game has mini games or combat in them? They do eventually get boring. There was one that had a fishing game that was mandatory for $ gain. That got bad fast.I have never seen a minigame in one of these that I didn't want to skip. Ones that can't be skipped are a "bastard dev" thing.
Thats true but rarely they are good tho.No. They often break a moment and usually done poorly.
